Dear Parents & Carers
Last week, I had the privilege of leading the Year 5 and 6 residential to PGL at Osmington Bay near Weymouth. For some of them, it was the first time ever staying away from home and although there were some wobbly lips, everyone ‘dug deep’ and arrived determined to enjoy it. I was so impressed how the children challenged themselves in our activities too. Have you noticed how they are perhaps standing a little taller and have a little more confidence? We have!
Mr McCadden has told me that he misses us greatly but is continuing to recover and hopes to return after half term.
On the last Friday of term (23rd October), I would love you to join me for an ‘Autumn Amble’ around Birdham. Please meet at school at 2.00pm if you would like to take part.

Coats
A reminder that now we are firmly into the ‘ber’ months, a warm waterproof coat should now be in school every day.
Unless it is raining ‘cats and dogs’ we will aim to get the children outside for at least part of their play and we are unable to if the children don’t have coats. Thank you.
Year 5 and 6's Fantastic pGL Adventure
What a fantastic time Year 5 and 6 had at Osmington Bay PGL for their residential last week! It was an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, laughter and plenty of opportunities to make wonderful memories together.
From the thrilling heights of the Giant Swing to the excitement of Ambush in the Dark and the fun of Disc Golf, everyone embraced the challenges with enthusiasm and determination.
Throughout the trip, the children demonstrated perseverance and friendship by the bucket load, supporting one another, stepping outside their comfort zones and celebrating each other’s successes. It was wonderful to see everyone growing in confidence, working as a team and making memories that will last a lifetime. We are incredibly proud of how they represented themselves and our school throughout the residential.
A huge thank you to all the staff who supported the trip, gave up their time and helped make this amazing experience possible.
Bumblebee Class Jam Plan
Bumblebee class children enjoyed some delicious cross-curricular learning as they made their own raspberry jam!
Linking Science, History and Eco learning, they explored nutrition and healthy diets, discovered how people in Stone Age times cooked fruit to help preserve it, and learned about reducing food waste by making use of ingredients that might otherwise go to waste.
A tasty way to bring our learning to life!

Please remember to update us with any new addresses or phone numbers so that we can keep our records up to date. Thank you.
Squishies
Please can we request that children do not bring squishies in to school. They regularly split and the inside contains toxic materials. If children do bring them in, they will be kept safe and returned at the end of the day.
Parents Evenings
These are now available to book in the class Dojo calendar. Each slot is 10 minutes and you can book as early as is available or as late to suit yourself. Tuesday slots look limited at the moment, but there are plenty available on Thursday.
Half Term
Just a reminder that half term is on Monday 26th October to Friday 30th October. We have an INSET day on Monday 1st November so school returns on Tuesday 2nd November.
