Birdham CE Primary School

Dear Parents & Carers

What a brilliant world book day we had on Friday last week! I spotted a few Little Misses and a BFG theme amongst the staff, and we had the Mario brothers, cats, policemen and even a dragon amongst the children! Thank you so much everyone for taking part in such a fun event.

Kind regards

Mr McCadden

Attendance

Congratulations to these children who have achieved greater than 99% attendance this year! As a special treat, you have been awarded 5 Dojo points each, so make sure you add them!

Benchball

Well done to our Y3&4 pupils for winning a benchball tournament against 10 local teams!

The team played very well together and managed to win EVERY game that they played, this meant that they went into the final unbeaten.

After a close match with North Mundham, Birdham emerged victorious. Congratulations to team Birdham, we are very proud of you!

Zero tolerance

Just a reminder that we have a zero tolerance policy of abusive language, tone and volume towards staff in school. Please remember to speak to us as you wish to be spoken to. Unfortunately incidences of shouting and rudeness are increasing and we reserve the right to disengage from a conversation until everyone is calm.

This policy serves to protect staff from abusive or threatening behaviour while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all.

Art Competition

We have not one, but two drawing competitions running in school! Entry forms are available in school reception.

The Goodwood team have asked local schools to design a dream dog for Lauren Child, the author of the Charlie & Lola books. You could win a HUGE bundle of books plus tickets to the ‘Goodwoof’ event!

The second competition is asking children to draw an ocean inspired picture. Whether that is a pirate ship, a Kraken or mermaids on a coral reef, the ocean has something for everyone. The winning drawings will become the book title and front cover!

Bfg at the CFT

Just a reminder that a number of parents have not granted consent or paid for their child’s theatre visit which is available now on ParentPay.

We have already booked and paid for these tickets as that is the theatre requirement so please either speak to your child’s class teacher if you are unable to contribute or pop on to ParentPay to make the payment and grant consent.

AND FINALLY...

Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud. 😊
