Dear Parents/Carers

To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake you have to stand out in the cold but as I write this, I can see approximately five snowflakes outside the window – sorry but no snow day today!

Is my child too ill for school?

There is some useful information from the NHS about common childhood illnesses here:

Carol singing

Last weekend our choir led by the wonderful Mrs Ellis sang at the switching on of the Christmas lights.  It was a very festive occasion although it was freezing!  We are next singing again on Saturday 2nd December at 2.00pm in Russells Garden Centre.

It’s cold outside!

With the weather looking like it will say in single figures for the next week or so, please make sure your child has their jumper and a warm coat with sleeves in school every day.  If they want to bring a woolly hat and gloves please make sure they are labelled with their name.

Tree week

All week the children have been out and about collecting leaves and sticks to make lots of lovely things that we hope to share with you over the next week or so.  Thank you so much for all the sacks of leaves we have been given!  We have been working on identifying which trees we have in our grounds and some of us have been to the church to count the rings of a fallen tree.

Kingfisher class have made gonks which they will be selling at the Christmas fair on Friday – it looked like great fun and great for the co-ordination and sewing skills.  Please come and support our stall where we will be selling the gonks to raise money for our school forest.

Thank you to everyone for the crisp packets and bags, we had such fun turning them into tinsel for our tree.

If you have seen our lovely tree in the hall, we have decorated it with our “tinsel”.  Now it has lights, it looks lovely and festive!

Robin class

Robin class had a lovely walk around school finding leaves and even trying to make leaf angels!  How many children can you see hiding in the leaves?

We took all the children on a nature walk around school this afternoon.  I wonder what they found?
